PAY FOR PLAY.....HOW DOES IT WORK?

I read somewhere online that the major record companies use a middleman to make financial deals with the radio stations or their owners to play their artists. Is that true?

The lack of comment on the "pay for play" question on this blog is interesting.

Hey anonymous, I think the silence is because people can't handle the truth.

I heard that the major labels pay an average of $68 per radio play to get their artists on the radio.
Anybody else heard that?

"pay for play" I bet I have been doing this "add them up" for 2 years now and I think the most I have seen from oversees air play was $5.22.
Well that's pretty good. Some songs are really worth listening too, but no one wants to do all the publishing or promotional work it takes. It's hard out here. Just have to keep sending out the music. Good Luck To All Who Try!!!
